Wall Street closes at a record for the first time since end of January
Investing.com – Brazil stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Electric Power, Industrials and Financials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa declined 1.31%.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were Braskem SA (BVMF:BRKM5), which rose 6.02% or 0.56 points to trade at 9.86 at the close. Meanwhile, Grupo Vamos SA (BVMF:VAMO3) added 2.31% or 0.09 points to end at 3.99 and BRF SA (BVMF:BRFS3) was up 1.67% or 0.37 points to 22.50 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Petroreconcavo SA (BVMF:RECV3), which fell 5.36% or 0.79 points to trade at 13.94 at the close. Marfrig Alimentos SA (BVMF:MRFG3) declined 4.73% or 1.12 points to end at 22.56 and Cvc Brasil ON (BVMF:CVCB3) was down 4.51% or 0.11 points to 2.33.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the B3 Stock Exchange by 513 to 419 and 62 ended unchanged.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 1.82% to 25.86.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.14% or 4.55 to $3,321.45 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 0.07% or 0.05 to hit $68.28 a barrel, while the September US coffee C contract fell 0.28% or 0.80 to trade at $284.80 .
USD/BRL was up 2.59% to 5.59, while EUR/BRL rose 2.42% to 6.54.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.05% at 97.22.
