Asia stocks climb tracking Wall St rally; Nikkei hits record high, China GDP beats
Investing.com – Brazil stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Real Estate, Consumption and Public Utilities sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa rose 1.97% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were Magazine Luiza SA (BVMF:MGLU3), which rose 10.05% or 0.64 points to trade at 7.01 at the close. Meanwhile, Minerva SA/Brazil (BVMF:BEEF3) added 9.91% or 0.44 points to end at 4.88 and Sendas Distribuidora SA (BVMF:ASAI3) was up 7.64% or 0.47 points to 6.62 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were WEG SA (BVMF:WEGE3), which fell 7.88% or 4.56 points to trade at 53.31 at the close. Embraer SA (BVMF:EMBR3) declined 2.97% or 1.81 points to end at 59.16 and Raia Drogasil SA (BVMF:RADL3) was down 0.38% or 0.08 points to 20.70.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the B3 Stock Exchange by 586 to 398 and 42 ended unchanged.
Shares in Raia Drogasil SA (BVMF:RADL3) fell to 52-week lows; falling 0.38% or 0.08 to 20.70.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 5.76% to 25.83 a new 3-months low.
Gold Futures for April delivery was down 1.18% or 33.13 to $2,773.47 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 2.12% or 1.58 to hit $73.08 a barrel, while the March US coffee C contract rose 1.04% or 3.63 to trade at $351.18 .
USD/BRL was down 0.14% to 5.90, while EUR/BRL fell 0.48% to 6.18.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.09% at 107.15.
