China GDP grows 5% in Q1, beats expectations on exports, spending strength
Investing.com – Brazil stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Consumption, Financials and Industrials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa gained 0.30%.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were Marfrig Alimentos SA (BVMF:MRFG3), which rose 6.80% or 1.16 points to trade at 18.21 at the close. Meanwhile, Brava Energia SA (BVMF:BRAV3) added 5.57% or 1.02 points to end at 19.33 and Hypera SA (BVMF:HYPE3) was up 3.93% or 0.77 points to 20.38 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Automob Participações SA (BVMF:AMOB3), which fell 10.00% or 0.03 points to trade at 0.27 at the close. Energy of Minas Gerais Co Preferred (BVMF:CMIG4) declined 4.85% or 0.55 points to end at 10.80 and Pet Center Comercio e Partcipacoes (BVMF:PETZ3) was down 4.30% or 0.19 points to 4.23.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the B3 Stock Exchange by 529 to 403 and 56 ended unchanged.
Shares in Marfrig Alimentos SA (BVMF:MRFG3) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 6.80% or 1.16 to 18.21.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 4.90% to 28.33.
Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.49% or 14.89 to $3,028.91 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 0.31% or 0.21 to hit $68.28 a barrel, while the May US coffee C contract fell 0.51% or 2.00 to trade at $390.15 .
USD/BRL was up 0.83% to 5.73, while EUR/BRL rose 0.50% to 6.20.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.29% at 103.79.
